Awards bring positive motivation
The 2025 Victory Cup award of Vietnamese sports announced the owners of 11 categories in the gala program held on January 29 in Hanoi. This is the last official professional election of the year for Vietnamese sports. Previously, two prestigious elections of the country's sports, the National Typical Athlete election and the Vietnam Golden Ball Award, were organized and closed.
Sports expert Nguyen Hong Minh (former Director of the High-Performance Sports Department 1, General Department of Sports and Physical Training) frankly shared: "Each election or award is built and implemented according to specific criteria. We see that the National Typical Athlete Vote is always noticed by sports people nationwide because it recognizes and honors the most outstanding individuals in a year of training and competition. The Victory Cup is a prestigious award in terms of value as well as competition achievements, but each category is carefully selected from the Professional Council, which are prestigious people of Vietnamese sports...".
Sports is movement. Every year, coaches and athletes must actively prepare professionally and try to achieve the best results. Competition results are an affirmation of their value.
We have conducted preliminary surveys at many national sports teams and found that every time the old year is about to close, athletes are always excited and looking forward to the opportunity to be nominated in the elections. Surely, the nomination must originate from the outstanding performance they have achieved" - the representative of the Organizing Committee of the National Typical Athlete Voting once shared.
Long roads will know good horses
This year, Trinh Thu Vinh has had a double title when she is the National Typical Athlete 2025, the Best Female Athlete of the 2025 Victory Cup. Shooter Ha Minh Thanh is the Best Male Athlete of the 2025 Victory Cup while player Nguyen Dinh Bac won the Silver Ball of Vietnamese Football, the Best Young Football Player of Vietnamese Football and the Best Young Athlete of the 2025 Victory Cup.
The three individuals mentioned above are outstanding athletes of Vietnamese sports today. In terms of expertise, each person has advantages and qualifications in their respective events and sports. Thu Vinh participated in the 2024 Olympics, won the SEA Games 33 Gold Medal, and broke the SEA Games record. Minh Thanh won the ASIAD Silver Medal in 2010, and won Gold Medals at 5 SEA Games, breaking many SEA Games records. Dinh Bac won the 2025 AFF Cup, and won 3rd place at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship...
Regarding work, national sports teams are very confident that each athlete, after having individual titles, must always create more motivation to continue developing instead of being satisfied early. Regarding this, Thu Vinh or Minh Thanh maintain their focus and continue to be key athletes that the Vietnamese shooting team invests in preparing for ASIAD 20. Dinh Bac also has his development opportunities and does not rule out that the striker will continue to be included in the ASIAD 20 team this year.
The Golden Ball award of Vietnamese football has a list of 70 nominated players in various categories. The numbers reflecting the team of Vietnamese athletes with good expertise are not small. However, they must maintain their form over time, then recognition for themselves will not only be meaningful at the time.
