According to Lao Dong's research, the Organizing Committee of the 33rd SEA Games Athletics did not issue a regulation on conducting a gender test for athletes participating in the women's event if there were any doubts.
Countries registering athletes to participate in the 33rd SEA Games have grasped the medical requirements of the Organizing Committee. Vietnam Athletics grasps these regulations.
However, the 33rd SEA Games Athletics will conduct mandatory doping testing to ensure the Anti-Doping Regulations applied by the World Athletics Federation. If athletes are required to take samples for testing during the 33rd SEA Games but are absent or refuse to do so, it will be considered a violation of the Organizing Committee's Anti-Doping Regulations.
Athletes who break Asian or Southeast Asian records will be required to take a doping test. Athletes who break national records will be submitted by that national team for doping testing according to regulations.
The organizing committee will randomly collect samples from athletes during the event.
Vietnam Athletics had 5 cases of doping at the 31st SEA Games (May 2022) and received a ban from competition according to regulations. Currently, the athletes have had their ban expired, returned to compete and strictly complied with inspection regulations (if any).
The 33rd SEA Games Athletics will hold a technical meeting on December 10. After that, the official events will be played from December 11 in Bangkok (Thailand).
