The 2025 National High School Sports Tournament will take place from June 9 to 18, 2025, for students aged 18 and under studying at educational institutions nationwide.
Nearly 2,300 students at all levels of primary, secondary, high school, and continuing education students from 53 provinces and cities will compete in 186 sets of medals in 5 competitions: Football, basketball, athletics, swimming and Vovinam.
For Vovinam (Vietnamese Martial Arts), the tournament took place from June 10 to 14 at Quoc Hoc Hue School. This is the only martial art to be included in the 2025 National High School Sports Tournament, attracting 593 athletes from 28 provinces and cities nationwide. Students competed in 53 sets of medals including 24 sets of medals for the competition, 29 sets of medals for the competition.
The highlight of this year's tournament comes from the Vovinam martial arts music event, which was first entered into competition with 2 sets of medals at the junior high school level with 8 competing units, high school level with 4 competing units. This is an innovation to keep up with the development trend of society when there are many students who love martial arts music and become a trend among young people.
In localities, many schools have converted Vovinam martial arts music lessons into core exercises for students and brought positive results as well as the love and consensus of parents. The introduction of martial arts music into the competition will encourage creativity and dynamism of students today.
The 2025 National High School Sports Tournament aims to promote the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho"; enhance exchanges, experience exchanges and health training, physical development contributing to comprehensive education for students.
This activity also aims to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the education sector's tradition, and to discover and foster national representatives to attend the 2025 Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival to be held in Brunei.
