The last time VTV owned the full broadcasting rights for ASIAD was at the 2010 Games in Guangzhou (China). At ASIAD 2018 in Indonesia, the official broadcasting rights belonged to VTC and VOV.
ASIAD 19 in Hangzhou in 2023, domestic television units faced major cost obstacles. The copyright price offered for sale is about 360 billion VND, exceeding the affordability of domestic units.
As a result, Vietnamese audiences do not have the option to watch the full live broadcast of ASIAD 19 sports through an official domestic television unit.
ASIAD 20 is held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan from September 19 to October 4. The Vietnamese sports delegation participates with 348 athletes in 33 sports and sub-sports, aiming to win 4 or more gold medals.
