Brent oil was at 82.21 USD/barrel, down 0.28 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.34%. Overall for the week, WTI oil price decreased by 7.67%; Brent oil price decreased by 7.29%.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world gasoline and oil market in this operating period is affected by key factors such as: the US canceling a new attack on Iran; Iran and Oman reaching consensus on the management mechanism of the Hormuz Strait; OPEC+ approving a plan to increase oil production from September; the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues, focusing heavily on energy facilities, oil refineries...
The above factors have caused world finished gasoline and oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on the item, but the downward trend is main.
The selling prices of popular consumer gasoline and oil items on the market on August 9 are as follows:
- E5 RON92 gasoline: not higher than 21,728 VND/liter, lower than E10 RON95-III gasoline by 596 VND/liter.
- E10 RON95-III gasoline: not higher than 22,324 VND/liter.
- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 27,544 VND/liter.
- 180CST 3.5S mazut oil: not higher than 16,391 VND/kg.
According to a representative of a gasoline and oil business, in the price adjustment period next week, domestic gasoline and oil prices may simultaneously decrease. Accordingly, gasoline E5 RON92 and gasoline E10 RON95-III prices may decrease by 1,000 - 1,300 VND/liter; oil prices may decrease from 100 - 1,600 VND/liter, depending on the type.
However, this business also noted that the increase or decrease depends on the spending of the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund of the inter-Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade.
