World oil prices are in a sharp decline. At the end of yesterday's trading session at the end of the weekend, WTI crude oil prices were at 62.68 USD/barrel, down 0.89 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.40%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 63.57 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 63.59 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 66.68 USD/barrel, down 0.76 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.13%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 67.44 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 67.46 USD/barrel.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world petroleum market last week (from September 11, 2025 to September 17, 2025) was affected by main factors such as: Fed lowered interest rates; US crude oil inventories decreased, distillate inventories increased; Military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continued, Ukraine increased attacks on Russian refineries and oil ports... The above factors have caused world petroleum prices in recent days to fluctuate up and down depending on each commodity.
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price management period, retail prices of gasoline may have opposite adjustments in the direction of slightly decreasing gasoline prices and increasing oil prices.
In the recent adjustment session (September 18), the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased compared to the previous adjustment period, at VND19986/liter (up VND230/liter). RON 95-III gasoline price increased compared to the previous adjustment period, priced at VND 20,608/liter (up VND 208/liter).
Prices of oil products increased simultaneously. Of which, diesel 0.05S is priced at VND18,705/liter (up VND62/liter); kerosene has a new price of VND18,544/liter (up VND176/liter); mazut is priced at VND15,130/kg (up VND40/kg).
