On the morning of September 20, at Ba Dinh Sports Center (Hanoi), the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) held the opening ceremony of the Sports Festival to celebrate the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front (VFF) and Central Trade Unions for the 2025-2030 term.
Attending the opening ceremony were: Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ms. Ha Thi Nga - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Mr. Tran Thang - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Central Associations; Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc - Deputy Secretary of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Nguyen Thi Tuyen - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Attending the event were athletes who are cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers of departments, units, agencies of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the Central level.
The tournament will feature competitions in the following sports: pickleball, table tennis, and tug of war. The prize structure includes 13 First prizes; 13 Second prizes; 26 Third prizes; 5 thematic prizes.
The Lao Dong Newspaper Party Committee has more than 20 athletes participating in all competitions.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor emphasized that the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Organizations for the 2025-2030 term is a political event of profound significance, marking a new step in the process of building, consolidating and enhancing the role and position of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations. Towards the Congress with faith, spirit and expectation, the cultural and sports activities organized are not only an occasion to celebrate the spirit of training but also a practical, vibrant and meaningful celebration activity for the team of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers of departments, units, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the Central level.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung emphasized that organizing sports festivals not only aims to improve spiritual life and improve the health of cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers, but is also an opportunity for departments and units to exchange, learn, and strengthen the spirit of solidarity, contributing to strengthening the great solidarity bloc between departments, units, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the Central level.
Right after the opening ceremony, the competitions took place vibrantly and attractively.
The first Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee and Central Trade Unions for the 2025-2030 term is expected to take place on September 22 and 23, 2025 at the Vietnam Youth Academy (Hanoi).
Regarding the delegation, the congress was attended by 350 delegates. Of which, the delegates are of course 31 comrades in the Executive Committee, the elected delegates attending the Congress include 18 comrades from 5 Party organizations; the delegates are appointed as 301 delegates from 20 affiliated Party organizations. Delegates attending ensure compliance with the structure.
