Forecasting the domestic gasoline price situation, the gasoline price forecast model using machine Learning of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) shows that in the adjustment period on September 18, 2025, retail gasoline prices may only increase slightly by 0.2 - 0.9% compared to the previous adjustment period, if the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade does not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund.
According to Mr. Doan Tien Quyet, data analysis expert of VPI, retail price of E5 RON-92 gasoline may increase by 178 VND (0.9%) to 19,928 VND/liter, while RON 95-III gasoline may increase by 180 VND (0.9%) to 20,580 VND/liter.
VPI's model also predicts that retail oil prices will be basically stable or only increase slightly during this period. Accordingly, diesel price increased slightly to VND 18,649/liter, mazut price may only increase by 0.2% to VND 15,090/kg, kerosene may increase by 0.6% to VND 18,470/liter. VPI forecasts that the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade will continue not to set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund this period.
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, retail prices of gasoline may have opposite adjustments.
Of which, RON 95-III gasoline price is forecast to increase by about 210 VND/liter; E5 RON 92-II gasoline increases by about 210 VND/liter; diesel decreases by about 10 VND/liter.
In the recent adjustment session (September 11), the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased compared to the previous adjustment period, at VND 19,756/liter (down VND 95/liter). RON 95-III gasoline price decreased compared to the previous adjustment period, priced at VND 20,400/liter (down VND 39/liter).
Prices of oil products increased and decreased in opposite directions. Of which, diesel 0.05S is priced at VND18,643/liter (up VND170/liter); kerosene has a new price of VND18,368/liter (up VND54/liter); mazut is priced at VND15,090/kg (down VND286/kg).
