At 10:32 PM on May 27, WTI oil price was at 90.25 USD/barrel, down 3.64 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 3.88%. Brent oil was at 93.49 USD/barrel, down 3.18 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 3.29%.
Regarding the domestic gasoline and oil market, a representative of a business said that finished gasoline and oil prices continue to decrease. Accordingly, it is forecast that gasoline and oil prices in the operating period this afternoon, May 28, will simultaneously reverse to decrease. In which, it is forecast that RON95 gasoline may decrease by 2,090 VND/liter; E5 RON92 gasoline decreases by 1,580 VND/liter; DO oil decreases by 1,410 VND/liter.
In the near future, from June 1, 2026, the Domestic Market Management and Development Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) requests the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities to direct the Market Management force, coordinate with functional forces to supervise and inspect gasoline and oil retail stores in the area.
In particular, resolutely handle acts of trading in gasoline of the wrong type according to the roadmap; acts of hoarding goods, creating supply scarcity, arbitrarily stopping sales without legitimate reasons or ambiguity in price and type of gasoline and oil at pumps; arbitrarily increasing unreasonable prices and other violations of the law.
Request the Market Management force at all levels, civil servants assigned to be in charge of the area to be responsible if the situation of gasoline and oil retail stores not complying with the conversion roadmap occurs; serious violations or hotspots of fraud and instability of the gasoline and oil market in the managed area occur without timely detection and handling.
Domestically, the selling prices of popular consumer gasoline and oil items in the price adjustment period on May 21 are as follows:
- E5 RON 92 gasoline: not higher than 24,340 VND/liter, 1,209 VND/liter lower than RON 95-III gasoline;
- RON 95-III gasoline: not higher than 25,549 VND/liter;
- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 28,761 VND/liter;
- 180CST 3.5S fuel oil: not higher than 21,483 VND/kg.
Gasoline and oil selling prices of neighboring countries of Vietnam in the operating period on May 21, 2026:
- Regarding gasoline prices: Thailand: 36,181 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 35,438 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Laos: 42,225 VND/liter; China: 35,438 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 25,549 VND/liter.
- Regarding oil prices: Thailand: 34,005 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 35,767 VND/liter; Laos: 42,753 VND/liter; China: 32,306 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 28,761 VND/liter.
Vietnam's gasoline and oil prices are currently lower than those of countries sharing a common border.
