In the price adjustment period last week, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the world gasoline and oil market in the operating period (from January 22nd, 2026 - January 28th, 2026) is affected by key factors such as: Tension between the United States and Iran; strong cold weather taking place in the United States; US oil inventories falling more sharply than forecast; the USD depreciating; prospects in negotiations to resolve military conflict between Russia and Ukraine; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine still continuing... The above factors have caused world gasoline and oil prices in recent days to fluctuate upwards and downwards depending on each item.
For the domestic market, VPI's Machine Learning application gasoline and oil price forecasting model shows that in the operating period on February 5, 2026, retail gasoline and oil prices may continue to increase by 1.4-4.9% compared to the previous operating period, if the Inter-Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade does not make or use the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund.
According to Mr. Doan Tien Quyet, data analysis expert of VPI, the retail price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 312 VND (1.7%) to 18,642 VND/liter and RON 95-III gasoline increased by 271 VND (1.4%) to 19,111 VND/liter.
VPI's model also forecasts that in this period, kerosene prices may increase by 509 VND (2.8%) to 18,679 VND/liter, diesel oil prices may increase by 563 VND (3.1%) to 18,733 VND/liter, while mazut oil is forecast to increase sharply by 714 VND (4.9%) to 15,344 VND/kg.
VPI forecasts that the inter-ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade this time will continue not to deduct or use the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund.

In the adjustment session last week, January 29, 2026, gasoline prices simultaneously increased compared to the price adjustment period last week. In which, E5 RON 92 gasoline is priced at 18,339 VND/liter (up 56 VND/liter). RON 95-III gasoline is priced at 18,845 VND/liter (up 214 VND/liter).
Prices of oil items simultaneously increased. Diesel oil 0.05S is priced at 18,173 VND/liter (up 473 VND/liter); kerosene has a new price of 18,176 VND/liter (up 226 VND/liter); mazut oil 180CST 3.5S is priced at 14,633 VND/kg (up 761 VND/kg).
