According to a survey at 11:27 p.m. on December 24, world oil prices decreased slightly. WTI crude oil prices fell by 0.04 USD/barrel (down 0.07%), down to 58.34 USD/barrel. Brent oil price decreased by 0.14 USD/barrel (down 0.22%), down to 62.24 USD/barrel.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world petroleum market last week (from December 11, 2025 to December 17, 2025) was affected by main factors such as: Developments in peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine promoted by the US could lead to increased oil supply from Russia; US crude oil inventories decreased but gasoline and distillate inventories increased beyond forecasts; tensions in relations between the US and Venezuela; the military conflict between Russia and Ukaina continues...
The above factors have caused world oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on each commodity, but the downward trend is mainly the downward trend.

For the domestic market, the Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) forecasts retail prices of gasoline in the operating period this afternoon, December 25, to decrease sharply by 3.7-4.1%, bringing the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline to VND 18,525/liter and RON 95-III gasoline to VND 18,814/liter.
The gasoline price forecasting model using machine Learning of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute shows that in this afternoon's operating period, retail gasoline prices may decrease by 1.9-4.1% compared to the previous operating period, if the Ministry of Finance and Industry and Trade does not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund.
According to Mr. Doan Tien Quyet, data analysis expert of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute, the retail price of E5 RON 92 gasoline may decrease by VND 714 (3.7%) to VND 18,525/liter, while RON 95-III gasoline is forecast to decrease by VND 806 (4.1%) to VND 18,814/liter.
A representative of a petroleum business said that it will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, retail prices of gasoline may continue to decrease sharply. Of which, RON 95-III gasoline price is forecast to decrease by about VND 610/liter; E5 RON 92-II gasoline decreases by about 510 VND/liter; Diesel oil decreases by about 250 VND/liter.
In the adjustment session last week (December 18), gasoline prices decreased simultaneously compared to the price adjustment period last week. Of which, E5 RON 92 gasoline is priced at VND 19,239/liter (down VND 376/liter). RON 95-III gasoline is priced at VND19,620/liter (down VND462/liter).
Prices of oil products also decreased simultaneously. Diesel 0.05S is priced at VND17,476/liter (down VND678/liter); kerosene has a new price of VND17,937/liter (down VND704/liter); mazut 180CST 3.5S is priced at VND13,160/kg (down VND233/kg).
