Domestic coffee prices
On August 21, 2025, domestic coffee prices continued to increase, averaging VND 123,000/kg, an increase of VND 1,300 compared to the previous session.
Specifically, in Dak Lak, coffee prices recorded 123,000 VND/kg, up 1,300 VND; Lam Dong reached 122,600 VND/kg, up 1,600 VND; Gia Lai stood at 122,700 VND/kg, up 1,200 VND; while Dak Nong (old) was the highest at 123,200 VND/kg, up 1,300 VND.
Compared to the beginning of 2025, when recorded around 119,000 - 119,800 VND/kg, coffee prices are currently about 3,000 - 3,400 VND/kg higher.
World coffee prices
In the world market, the London Stock Exchange recorded a strong increase in Robusta prices.
The September 2025 contract ended at 4,646 USD/ton, up 236 USD. The November 2025 term reached 4,401 USD/ton, up 133 USD.
The January 2026 contract stood at 4,258 USD/ton, up 124 USD. The March 2026 term reached 4,170 USD/ton, up 106 USD. For a further contract, in May 2026, it closed at 4,125 USD/ton, up 98 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, the New York Stock Exchange also saw Arabica increase.
The September 2025 contract increased to 360.25 cents/lb, up 4.05 cents. The December 2025 term reached 353.45 cents/lb, up 4.40 cents.
The March 2026 contract recorded 343.70 cents/lb, up 4.70 cents. The May 2026 term increased to 335.80 cents/lb, up 5.00 cents. The longest contract, in July 2026, reached 327.10 cents/lb, up 5.10 cents.
Coffee prices continued to increase strongly for a long time, with Arabica coffee prices reaching the highest level in 2.25 months and Robusta coffee prices reaching the highest level in 2.5 months.
The reason comes from the concern about the weather in Brazil, which has promoted coffee futures contract purchases. On Monday, Somar Meteorologia reported that Minas Gerais, Brazil's largest Arabica coffee growing region, had no rain in the week ended on August 16.
