Domestic coffee prices
On September 29, coffee prices in key Central Highlands regions increased by VND 1,000/kg compared to the closing price at the end of the week, bringing the average price in the whole region to VND 116,500/kg. This is the highest price since a sharp decline in mid-September.
The increase occurred simultaneously in all localities:
Dak Lak increased by VND 1,000/kg to VND 116,500/kg.
Dak Nong (old) has the highest price, increasing by VND 1,000/kg to VND 116,700/kg.
Lam Dong and Gia Lai also increased by VND 1,000/kg, reaching VND 115,300/kg and VND 116,300/kg.
Compared to 1 week ago (September 22): Coffee prices have increased by a total of VND 5,100/kg (from VND 111,400/kg).
Compared to 1 month ago (late August): From an average of 122,000 VND/kg at the end of August, coffee prices have now decreased by a net of 5,500 VND/kg.
World coffee prices
The closing price of last weekend (September 26) of world coffee prices showed a significant recovery.
Robusta price ( London): Closed at 4,201 USD/ton. Arabica price (New York): Closed at 378.05 US cents/lb.
World coffee prices showed an impressive recovery over the weekend, but closing prices were still significantly lower than the peak in mid-September. Specifically, Robusta is still far from the peak of 4,601 USD/ton.
Since the peak in late August, when Robusta prices reached 5,057 USD/ton and Arabica reached 396.85 cents/lb, the international market has experienced a serious deep decline. This net decline, similar to the domestic market, reflects that the market has adjusted away from the previous record high.
Forecast and prediction of upcoming coffee prices
The coffee market is in a very solid mood as it enters the new week. The simultaneous increase in prices in the domestic market shows that growth momentum has been established. Basic factors such as low inventories on international exchanges, supply pressure from Brazil (due to tariffs) and weather risks are still the main drivers supporting prices.
Domestic investors and traders are showing optimism, ready to push prices up as soon as the market opens.
Forecast: In the short term, the upward trend may continue, especially if international exchanges (Robusta and Arabica) react positively in today's trading session. However, volatility is still a characteristic of the market at the moment, according to barchart.vn.
