Domestic pepper prices: Reversal to decrease
As of 11:30 today (September 13), domestic pepper prices are trading in the range of 139,000 - 141,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 - 3,000 VND/kg.
Gia Lai province remains unchanged, anchored at 139,000 VND/kg.
Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City decreased by VND 1,000/kg compared to the closing price of last week, reaching VND 139,000/kg. Meanwhile, Lam Dong province remains unchanged at 140,000 VND/kg.
Notably, Dak Lak decreased the most by VND3,000/kg, down to VND141,000/kg. However, this is still the province with the highest pepper purchasing price in the country.

World pepper prices: Vietnam's export demand increases
According to data from the International Pepper Association (IPC), Vietnam's pepper export prices have been adjusted up over the past week, while pepper prices from other countries have generally decreased.
At the end of the week, the price of Indonesian black pepper was listed at 7,393 USD/ton, down 146 USD/ton compared to last week. In the same direction, the price of Indonesian white pepper decreased by 7 USD/ton compared to last week, down to 10,177 USD/ton.
Similarly, the prices of ASTA Malaysia and ASTA 570 Brazilian black pepper also decreased by 100 USD/ton and 25 USD/ton, respectively, to 8,900 USD/ton and 6,250 USD/ton. Meanwhile, Malaysia ASTA white pepper remained unchanged at 9,150 USD/ton, unchanged over the past week.
On the other hand, Vietnam's export black pepper prices increased by 200 USD/ton last week, ranging from 6,440 - 6,570 USD/ton for black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l. At the same increase, Vietnam's export price of white pepper stood at 8,950 USD/ton.
