Assessment and forecast
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), export demand to major markets such as China, India and Europe remains stable. However, the buying speed has slowed somewhat because importers want to wait for lower price adjustments.
Vietnam's average export export price to China is up to 7,212 USD/ton, up 51.7% over the same period last year. At the same time, it is significantly higher than the average price of 6,363 USD/ton (up 37.7%) of Indonesia and 4,375 USD/ton (up 30.2%) of Brazil.
In the domestic market, the inventory of growers is not large, but purchasing power is temporarily weak due to waiting mentality. The market is currently in a stagnant phase, as both buyers and sellers are exploring the next developments.
