Assessment and forecast
According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), based on current supply-demand factors, some experts in the industry predict that pepper prices may increase slightly in the period from mid-May to early June 2025, when export enterprises complete their delivery contracts for the second quarter of 2025.
Some European and Middle Eastern markets have boosted imports to serve holidays and travel seasons. At the same time, world pepper prices are likely to recover slightly if supply from the Brazilian market is at a disadvantage in the weather. However, the forecast increase is not large, fluctuating around 500 - 1,000 VND/kg and depends largely on the exchange rate as well as the global trade situation.
