Domestic pepper prices maintain a stable chain
As of 12:30 today (13.), the domestic pepper market recorded prices from 151,000 - 152,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices in Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Gia Lai all set the mark of 151,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Binh Phuoc recorded a price higher than VND500,000/kg, currently anchored at VND151,500/kg.
In particular, Ba Ria - Vung Tau maintains its leading position among the provinces and cities with the highest pepper purchases in the country at 152,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices continue to decrease slightly in the Indonesian market
In the world market, consumer prices generally continue to maintain a stable state. In Indonesia alone, black pepper prices decreased slightly by 0.2%, down to 7.323 USD/ton (equivalent to 191,497 VND/kg); white pepper also decreased by 0.21%, down to 9,918 USD/ton (about 259,356 VND/kg).
In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains unchanged at 6,700 - 6,800 USD/ton (equivalent to 175,205 - 177,820 VND/kg). ASTA white pepper prices also remain unchanged, at 9,700 USD/ton (about 253,655 VND/kg).
In the same direction, other markets such as Brazil and Malaysia did not record any fluctuations. Malaysia's white rice continues to hold the highest price globally at 11,900 USD/ton (equivalent to 311,185 VND/kg).

Assessment and forecast
According to data from the International Trade Center (ITC), in March, US pepper imports reached 6,741 tons, up 13.4% over the previous month and up nearly 17% over the same period last year. The main supply markets include: Vietnam at 3,991 tons, Indonesia at 1,515 tons and India at 815 tons.
By the end of the first quarter, US pepper imports reached 21,586 tons, worth nearly 159 million USD, up 8.7% in volume and 66.6% in value compared to the same period in 2024.
Of which, Vietnam was the main pepper supplier to the US market in the first quarter of the year with a volume of 13,036 tons, worth 98.5 million USD, down 13.6% in volume but up 38.4% in value over the same period. Vietnam's market share in total US pepper imports has decreased to 60.4% from 76% in the same period.
The domestic market is still lacking momentum to increase prices, as exports stagnate and domestic purchasing power has not broken out.
