Domestic pepper prices: Reversing to decrease
As of 11:30 a.m. today (October 17), the domestic pepper market has decreased in price in some areas, an average of VND 145,600/kg. Currently, the price ranges from 144,000 - 147,000 VND/kg.
Some areas maintained stable prices compared to the previous session, except for provinces such as Dong Nai, Gia Lai and Ho Chi Minh City when they decreased by 500-1,000 VND/kg respectively.
Gia Lai province today listed 144,000 VND/kg. This is the lowest price in the region.
Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai maintain the trading level at 145,000 VND/kg.
Lam Dong and Dak Lak set the price of 147,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Slight fluctuations
In the world market, pepper prices have mostly stabilized after a deep decline. In particular, the Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets for price reduction. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,233 - 10,091 USD/ton (equivalent to 190,691 VND/kg - 266,040. VND/kg).
On the other hand, the Brazilian market, after a deep price drop of 1.64%, is currently at 6,100 USD/ton (about 160,821 VND/kg). In the same direction, black and white pepper were stable, trading at 12,500 USD/ton and 9,500 USD/ton, respectively.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, after a day of sudden decline of 3.03% - 3.13%, the price of black pepper type 500 g/l and 550 g/l remained unchanged, anchored at 6,400 - 6,600 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices remain high, currently standing at 9,050 USD/ton (equivalent to 238,595 VND/kg).

Assessment and forecast
According to data from the Vietnam Customs Department, in September 2025, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 20,405 tons, worth 136 million USD, down 4.9% in volume and 3.1% in value compared to the previous month, but compared to the same period last year, they increased by 19.3% in volume and increased by 23.2% in value.
In the first 9 months of 2025, the export value of Vietnam's pepper reached 1.27 billion USD, nearly equal to the whole of 2024. This result is achieved thanks to the sharp increase in export pepper prices. Therefore, although the export volume after 9 months only reached 186,503 tons, down 7.1% in volume, the value increased by nearly 28% over the same period last year.
