Domestic pepper prices
As of 11:30 am today (June 20), domestic pepper prices remained unchanged after a sharp decrease, averaging 136,900 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 136,000 - 138,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices maintain a low price range, currently listed prices are as follows:
Gia Lai and Dong Nai provinces trade at the threshold of 130,000 VND/kg. This is the lowest price of domestic pepper offered to the market.
Ho Chi Minh City is anchored at the price threshold of 136,500 VND/kg after a sharp decrease of 3,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong are both offering for sale at a purchase price of 138,000 VND/kg.
World pepper price
In the world market, pepper prices are stable in all countries. The price of black and white pepper in Indonesia has decreased, trading in the range of 7,175 - 9,260 USD/ton (equivalent to 189,707 VND/kg - 244,835 VND/kg).
In the same direction, the Brazilian market decreased by 100 USD/ton, selling to the market at a price of 5,850 USD/ton (about 154,674 VND/kg). Notably, black and white Malaysian peppers are still trading at high prices, respectively 12,250 USD/ton and 9,350 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains at 6,100 - 6,200 USD/ton. In the same direction, ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 9,000 USD/ton (equivalent to 237,960 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts
In the context of erratic domestic pepper prices, according to analysts, localities need to find appropriate solutions to improve products and value chains. In addition, increasingly harsh weather diễn biến and uneven technical levels are also significant challenges affecting crop yields.
The local agricultural sector is also promoting the planning of concentrated raw material areas, closely linking farmers with businesses, in order to distribute directly and diversely to the market.
