World pepper price
In the world market, pepper prices suddenly adjusted after a series of days of stagnation in all countries. Two items, black and white pepper in Indonesia, increased in price, trading in the range of 7, 205 - 9, 298 USD/ton (equivalent to 190, 450 VND/kg - 245, 775 VND/kg), increasing by 68 USD/ton and 87 USD/ton respectively.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian market is holding at 5,950 USD/ton (about 157,277 VND/kg). Notably, black and white Malaysian peppers are still trading at high prices, respectively 12,250 USD/ton and 9,350 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains at 6,100 - 6,200 USD/ton. In the same direction, ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 9,000 USD/ton (equivalent to 237,897 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in May 2026, Vietnam's pepper exports were estimated at 30,000 tons, with a turnover of 196.7 million USD. Accumulated in the first 5 months of the year, this industry exported about 126,800 tons, earning 819.7 million USD, an increase of 27% in volume and 18.8% in value compared to the same period in 2025.
However, the average export price only reached about 6,463 USD/ton, down 6.5% compared to the same period last year. This shows that the growth momentum mainly comes from export output and market expansion capacity rather than from price factors. The United States continues to be Vietnam's largest pepper consumption market, accounting for 28.5% market share. Followed by Germany and Thailand with proportions of 5.9% and 4.9% respectively.
Thanks to the global supply not increasing strongly, while consumption demand in major markets such as the US, Europe and China is expected to recover in the last months of the year, the outlook is assessed as positive in the medium and long term.
