Assessments and forecasts
According to preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), Vietnam's pepper exports in the first half of April 2026 reached 14,526 tons, earning 91.5 million USD, an increase of 14.5% in volume and 12.7% in value compared to the same period in March 2026. This shows that export activities continue to maintain growth momentum.
In the opposite direction, at the same time, Vietnam imported 3,699 tons of pepper, with a turnover of 20.9 million USD, down 17.1% in volume and 23% in value compared to the same period last month (reaching 4,464 tons).
It is estimated that Vietnam's pepper production this year will reach 160,000 tons, while the harvest season has been basically completed since the end of March 2026, causing supply in the market to begin to shrink, especially in the Central Highlands.
However, purchasing demand from export enterprises is tending to increase again. This development contributes to keeping pepper prices at a high level, while strengthening the positive psychology of the market.
