Assessments and forecasts
Increased supply from the new harvest makes pepper prices maintain a price range below 150,000 VND/kg, while demand increases are not corresponding. However, in the medium and long term, pepper prices are expected to remain at a high level.
According to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, pepper export activities were quite favorable in the first 3 months of the year, reaching 65,000 tons, earning 418 million USD, an increase of 37% in volume and 29% in value. However, the average export price of pepper in the first quarter of 2026 decreased slightly by 6% compared to the same period, reaching 6,465 USD/ton.
In the international market, pepper prices are forecast to continue to differentiate before forming a clear upward trend. As global supply gradually shrinks and import demand improves, especially in major markets, international pepper prices will have the opportunity to recover strongly in the second and third quarters of 2026.
