Assessment and forecast
In 2024, pepper yield will reach 12.5 quintals/ha, higher than in 2023 and the selling price will also be high, bringing in large incomes for farmers. However, the sharp decline in productivity in 2025 has made many garden owners worried.
The relevant agencies are coordinating to review damage, guide the restoration of pepper gardens and study new, well-resistant varieties. After the 2025 harvest, there will be specific technical instructions to improve the soil, take care of the garden and build an effective irrigation system.
Faced with changes in weather and prices, the agricultural sector needs to focus on restoring old pepper gardens, planning new growing areas, applying sustainable agriculture in the direction of GAP, organic, water-saving and effective disease management. At the same time, building a sustainable value chain, connecting businesses and farmers to improve productivity, quality and stable income.
