World pepper prices: Unchanged

Assessments and forecasts
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in the first 4 months of 2026, pepper exports reached 95.1 thousand tons with a turnover of 614.4 million USD, an increase of 29.2% in volume and 20.9% in value compared to the same period in 2025. The average export price reached nearly 6,460 USD/ton, down 6.4% compared to the same period last year.
This development shows that pepper exports are expanding strongly in terms of commodity scale, but the growth rate of turnover is not completely commensurate because export prices have not increased evenly. However, pepper is still the leading commodity for the growth of the entire Vietnamese spice industry, while many other product groups such as cinnamon, anise, chili or ginger, turmeric record differentiated developments.
