Domestic pepper prices: Extending the series of sideways days
As of 11:30 am today (May 22), domestic pepper prices continue to maintain the price range, averaging 140,800 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 139,000 - 142,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices remained unchanged for the 4th consecutive day, currently the listed prices in regions are as follows:
Gia Lai province traded at the 13,900,000 VND/kg mark.
Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc respectively listed prices at 141,000 VND/kg and 140,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, Dak Lak and Lam Dong offered for sale at the highest purchase price of 142,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: In the same direction
In the world market, pepper prices are stable in countries. The two items of black and white pepper in Indonesia stand firm, trading in the range of 7,050 - 9,244 USD/ton (equivalent to 186,057 VND/kg - 243,959 VND/kg).
The Brazilian market maintained an increase of 100 USD/ton, listed at 6,250 USD/ton (about 164,944 VND/kg). Notably, black and white peppers in the same direction maintained an increase of 50 USD/ton, trading at 12,250 USD/ton and 9,350 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains at 6,100 - 6,200 USD/ton. In the same direction, ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 9,000 USD/ton (equivalent to 237.519 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts
Harvesting activities are gradually ending in most areas. This year, yields have slightly decreased in many regions of the Central Highlands, partly due to excessive rainfall last year. In many areas, farmers and traders have sold coffee and kept pepper.
According to preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Plant Association (VPSA), in the first 15 days of May 2026, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 10,830 tons, with a turnover of 70.9 million USD, down 25.4% in volume and 22.5% in value compared to the first 15 days of April 2026, while slightly increasing by 2.2% in volume but down 5% in value compared to the same period in 2025. In which, black pepper reached 9,405 tons, white pepper reached 1,425 tons.
