Assessments and forecasts
Yesterday's sharp decline took place after a period of the market maintaining high prices. Profit-taking activities and pressure from international developments are making trading sentiment more cautious. However, compared to the same period many years ago, the current price level is still assessed as positive for pepper growers.
According to analysts, the global pepper market is entering a technical adjustment phase after the previous increase. Import demand remains stable but not strong enough to create a new price boost in the short term. In this context, domestic pepper prices are likely to continue to be affected by international developments and supply regulation activities of export enterprises.
