Domestic pepper prices: Turn around and reduce prices
As of 11:30 am today (February 27), domestic pepper prices have decreased, averaging 147,800 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 147,500 - 148,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price lists of provinces and cities increasing and decreasing interspersed with each day, specifically as follows:
Gia Lai and Dong Nai both decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, anchored at the threshold of 147,500 VND/kg.
With the same decrease, Lam Dong listed the price at the mark of 148,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Ho Chi Minh City decreased the deepest by 1,500 VND/kg, bringing the price down to 148,500 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: In the same direction
In the world market, pepper prices continue to increase in some countries. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets is no exception. Black and white peppers are traded in the range of 7,020 - 9,351 USD/ton (equivalent to 184.346 VND/kg - 245.558 VND/kg), increasing by 30 USD/ton and 40 USD/ton respectively.
The Brazilian market is listed at 6. 175 USD/ton (about 162. 156 VND/kg). Notably, black and white peppers maintained an increase of 100 USD/ton, trading at 12. 100 USD/ton and 9. 100 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is maintained at 6,400 - 6,600 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper price continues to be offered for sale at 9,150 USD/ton (equivalent to 240,279 VND/kg).
Assessments and forecasts
Experts believe that this price reduction is more technical than a long-term trend, because export businesses have basically resolved emergency orders and are waiting for new signals from the international market.
In January 2026, Vietnam imported 4,681 tons of pepper, a sharp increase of more than 157% compared to the same period last year. The main source of goods is coordinated from neighboring countries and direct competitors such as Cambodia, Brazil and Indonesia to serve processing and re-export needs.
Import demand from many large markets remains stable, helping Vietnam's pepper industry maintain an important position in the world market. These factors are considered an important foundation to help domestic pepper prices limit their deep decline.
