Ms. Hien said that the prices of vegetables and fruits at this wholesale market are stable compared to normal days, some types are even lower than normal days.
"I often go to this wholesale market to buy food because the prices are cheaper than buying at small markets near my house. Now that it's a holiday, the amount of goods I buy for my family is 4 times higher than usual, so I go early to buy fresh goods. In general, the prices of pork and vegetables on holidays are the same as usual and there is no price increase," said Ms. Hien.
A retailer specializing in selling imported grapes for distribution at the market said that during this holiday, the amount of grapes she imports has increased by 20% compared to normal days.
"In general, purchasing power on this holiday does not increase compared to normal days, so prices are stable. I sell an 8kg box of peony grapes for 390,000 VND, while on normal days I sell them for 400,000 VND" - said a grape trader.
On the afternoon of August 1, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Hoc Mon wholesale market said that during the September 2 holiday, the amount of goods coming to the market was abundant, prices were stable and did not increase.
According to the leader of Hoc Mon wholesale market, on the night of August 31 and early morning of September 1, the output of pork pieces imported to the market was 353 tons. The price of grade 1 pork pieces was 80,000 VND/kg, grade 2 was 76,000 VND/kg, spare ribs were 135,000 VND/kg, pork chops were 75,000 VND/kg, pork belly was 115,000 VND/kg... "In general, the prices of pork, vegetables and fruits at the market are stable and there is no increase in price" - the leader of Hoc Mon wholesale market informed.
