According to the report of the Steering Committee 389 of Hanoi City, in October 2025, the commodity market in the city will generally continue to maintain a stable state. The supply of essential goods is guaranteed, there is no local shortage or major fluctuations in prices.
However, due to the impact of prolonged stormy weather, many areas in the city have experienced flooding, with prices of some agricultural products and fresh food fluctuating locally following a slight price increase trend.
Discovering many major cases of fake food
The report of the Hanoi Steering Committee 389 clearly stated that in October 2025, the trading and transportation of smuggled goods, banned goods, production and trading of counterfeit goods, food safety violations and trade fraud, violations in the field of e-commerce... will continue to develop complicatedly, posing many unpredictable risks.
Violations are diverse in most product groups such as consumer goods, food, food, renewable medicine, electronics, consumer electronics, alcohol, beer, soft drinks, cigarettes, cosmetics, and functional foods.
Notably, the Hanoi Market Management Department has coordinated with the City Police to discover cases of producing dozens of tons of fake beef from imported buffalo meat and producing fake Lavie juice, seizing more than 500 bottles of finished products.
Thereby, the Investigation Police Agency of the City Police has issued a decision to prosecute cases and defendants for the crime of producing and trading counterfeit goods such as food and provisions.

Regarding the general results, in October 2025, the functional forces in the Hanoi Steering Committee 389 inspected and arrested 3,378 cases, handled 3,257 violations, of which 3,248 cases were administratively handled, and 09 cases were prosecuted against 19 defendants.
The total amount of money paid to the state budget reached 401.079 billion VND, including administrative fines of 103.863 billion VND, additional fines and tax collection of 292.967 billion VND, and confiscated sales of 4.249 billion VND.

Through assessment, member units in the Hanoi Steering Committee 389 have done a good job of leadership, direction and dissemination, requiring units and functional forces to strictly implement the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee 389 on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
Units regularly exchange, share information and coordinate to inspect and handle violations.
Strengthening propaganda and dissemination of laws
In addition to inspection and handling, the authorities also strengthen propaganda work.
Implementing Plan No. 46/KH-BCD389/TP on propaganda on political tasks in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the city in 2025, the Steering Committee 389 of Hanoi has proactively coordinated with press and media agencies such as Vietnam Television, Hanoi Radio and Television, Cong Thuong Newspaper, Cong Thuong Magazine, Hanoi Moi Newspaper, Lao Dong Newspaper, Economic and Urban Newspaper... to carry out propaganda and dissemination of laws on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
Media units promptly reflect developments in the situation, methods and tricks of smuggling activities, trade fraud and counterfeit goods to raise people's vigilance. At the same time, setting an example for outstanding collectives and individuals in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

In the coming time, the Steering Committee 389 of Hanoi City recommends that member units continue to proactively coordinate with media agencies to promote and innovate information, propaganda and dissemination of laws to raise awareness and compliance of people and businesses.
Propaganda work also focuses on disseminating tricks and methods of fraud and deception of subjects so that people know, raise vigilance and promptly inform authorities to prevent violations.
Currently, the tricks of the subjects producing and trading counterfeit goods and poor quality goods are very sophisticated, people need to be vigilant when shopping, choosing products at reputable establishments, checking labels, expiration dates and clear origins.
Avoid buying goods at unusually cheap prices or through unofficial channels, especially online. If violations are detected, promptly notify the authorities to protect their rights and health safety.
