The closer to the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the more people flock to large supermarkets to shop and prepare to welcome the new year. Many supermarkets are crowded with people, long queues waiting to pay.
Although during the week the shopping flow is already quite crowded, on weekends, supermarkets in Hanoi City such as Go!, WinMart, FujiMart... recorded a sudden increase in shopping customers.

Notably, the Tet goods display area is arranged right from the entrance with a large supply volume. Stalls of cakes, jams, candies, wines, soft drinks, dried foods and gift baskets attract a large number of consumers to choose.

With the desire to complete the list of Tet shopping items, Mr. Phung Quang Anh (Lang Thuong ward, Hanoi) said that he had actively gone shopping a few weeks ago but there were still some items that were not complete.
I had planned to go in the days leading up to Tet and weekends, the supermarket will be very crowded, but this scene is unbelievable. I stood at the cake counter for 10 minutes but could not continue. Everyone is taking advantage of the last weekend to buy Tet in time" - Mr. Quang Anh said.
The above situation seems to be a common point for many people, Ms. Vu Thu Thuy (Thinh Quang ward, Hanoi) felt "stuck" when looking at the crowd in front of her.
My whole family of 4 went shopping together, but I told my husband to take the children home before coming here. Each person has a full cart of goods, so it seems impossible to move, stuck in the supermarket" - Ms. Thuy informed.
According to Ms. Thuy, this year, the items are more diverse and rich, and the price segment is easy to buy. Brands all offer many types, compact and easy to choose. Tet gift baskets are suitable for all needs.
However, Ms. Thuy is worried that with the current large number of shoppers, shopping will last for many more hours. "I am considering returning to take advantage of doing other things, I will return at the beginning of the week to breathe easier" - Ms. Thuy said.

Not only at domestic stalls for Tet, the payment area has become a nightmare for many people. Ms. Phan Ngoc Mai (Cau Giay ward, Hanoi) complained: "I have been standing here for a long time, every stall is endless. I bought goods but it takes 30 minutes - 1 hour to pay, not just scanning the QR code to transfer money is done, requiring quite a few steps to complete the transaction, causing congestion".
As predicted by many sales staff, people's demand for Tet shopping increases on weekends. Products are not in time to be displayed on shelves, and staff are operating at full capacity.
