Lao Dong's records in recent days at the land area where Hoan Kiem Lake East square - park will be built (Hoan Kiem ward, Hanoi), workers and machinery are being mobilized to demolish a series of houses and headquarters within the project site clearance area.
The headquarters of Hoan Kiem Power Company has basically completed the dismantling of items. Pho Thin Bo Ho restaurant at No. 61 Dinh Tien Hoang, a familiar culinary address, has also been dismantled.
On Tran Nguyen Han street, the National Power Transmission Corporation located within the project scope has also announced the relocation of a new workplace.
A 10-story hotel on Ly Thai To street and some other projects will also be demolished by the construction unit in the near future.
The demolition of the project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026.
According to Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee, there are 17 organizations and 43 households in the land acquisition and site clearance area to implement the Hoan Kiem Lake East square - park project. Up to now, organizations, households, and individuals have basically agreed with the compensation, support and resettlement plan.
The project to invest in building the square - park east of Hoan Kiem Lake has a scale of about 2.14 ha, bordering Hoan Kiem Lake and Dinh Tien Hoang street to the west; existing residential area to the north; Ly Thai To street to the east; Tran Nguyen Han street to the south.
The project to build the square - park east of Hoan Kiem Lake is divided into 2 phases.
Phase 1 includes compensation, support, and resettlement for home and land users. Functional agencies will plan, organize, and arrange the square space including leveling, paving stone, green trees, lawns, parking lots... according to the approved design plan.
Functional agencies will also renovate and renovate some buildings to retain and relocate underground and above-ground works and some other related items.
Phase 2 will be implemented by a separate project according to the planning and architectural plan appraised and approved by competent authorities in accordance with regulations, with the orientation of the approved plan.
In phase 2, functional agencies will study the planning and organization of underground space in the area east of Hoan Kiem Lake (about 3 basements), connecting the underground space of station C9 - urban railway line No. 2 Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao.
At the same time, there should be appropriate technical solutions for conservation works during the construction of the basement.
For phase 2, Hoan Kiem ward will study carefully with orientations according to the approved plan and opinions of the Hanoi People's Committee.
