4 officers of the Vietnam People's Army receive decisions to perform peacekeeping missions from the United Nations.

On the morning of December 31, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense organized a ceremony to award the President's decision, the Minister of National Defense's decision to 4 officers of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) to perform the United Nations peacekeeping mission (PKO).

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Inter-sectoral Working Group, Head of the Steering Committee of the Ministry of National Defense on participating in UN GGHB activities - chaired the ceremony.

This deployment includes 4 carefully selected officers, fully meeting the strict standards of the United Nations, ready to replace soldiers on duty at the MINUSCA mission (Central African Republic) and deploy new positions to the United Nations Office for Peace and Security in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium.

In which, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thi Lien, Assistant to the Training Department, Department of GGHB Vietnam, participated in the application and was admitted to the position of Expert on Security and National Defense Policy at the United Nations Office for Peace and Security in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium.

Lieutenant Colonel Dang Thu Ha, former editor of the People's Army Newspaper, was assigned to replace Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Huyen Anh, taking on the position of Communication Officer (MPIO) at the MINUSCA mission, Central African Republic.

Captain Nguyen Huy Khai, Assistant for External Relations, Military Hospital 175, was assigned to replace Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huy Tuan, taking on the position of Chief of Staff for Equipment (COE) at the MINUSCA mission.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram, an officer of the Vietnam Coast Guard, was assigned to replace Lieutenant Colonel Bui Thi Minh Nguyet, taking on the position of Staff Officer (SO Training) at the MINUSCA Mission.

According to Major General Pham Manh Thang - Director of the Vietnam GGHB Department (Ministry of National Defense), officers have all completed training courses as required by the United Nations. In addition, depending on the deployment position, the Vietnam GGHB Department has sent officers to participate in training courses abroad to improve professional qualifications in the field that each comrade takes on in the mission.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang - Deputy Minister of National Defense - affirmed that the officers sent off this time are all outstanding cadres, trusted by agencies and units. With careful and methodical preparation, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang believes that the comrades will excellently complete their tasks in all working positions.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang requested officers to quickly adapt to the local situation immediately after being deployed, perform well their assigned responsibilities and tasks, strengthen research, improve the ability to analyze and forecast the situation, promptly report, and serve as a basis for the Vietnam DPKO to advise and propose to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on the strategic direction for deploying the United Nations DPKO force of the Vietnam People's Army in the next period.

Paying attention to the task requirements for officers working in defense foreign affairs in general as well as officers preparing to depart to participate in GGHB activities, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang emphasized that comrades need to promote the spirit of: Loyalty and dedication - Confidence and creativity - Flexible bravery - Convincing negotiation - Top efficiency - Fatherland above all.
