Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee has just issued document No. 8557/UBND-KTTH (dated August 5) on building a business database on industries, production capacity, quality standards, and export markets to serve trade promotion and investment attraction.
Document sent to Departments: Industry and Trade, Finance, Science and Technology; Provincial Statistics; Sub-Department of Customs Region V; People's Committees of communes and wards.
The document clearly states: "After considering the content of the report and proposal of the Department of Industry and Trade in Official Dispatch No. 2218/SCT-PTCT dated July 27, 2026, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has the following opinion:
Data on businesses and industries according to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade is too rudimentary, showing that the Department does not grasp the minimum state management area in managing industries.
Request the Director of the Department to draw experience on this content, direct criticism of relevant officials to advise on building reports; urgently work with departments and sectors, especially Provincial Statistics to obtain meaningful and valuable data for management work, not just reporting the names of businesses; it is necessary to change the thinking of the Department not only managing administrative procedures in the field but also needing to grasp the actual development situation of businesses in the field of industry and trade; on that basis, there will be a basis to advise and propose direction measures to develop the industry".
The Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance, Sub-Department of Customs Region V, Provincial Statistics and relevant agencies and units to study and propose the task of developing a Coordination Regulation to collect and update enterprise databases by industry and export market of Bac Ninh province, as a basis for serving state management, trade promotion and export development.
It is known that the current Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh province is Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu (appointed from July 1, 2025). Previously, Mr. Hieu held the position of Director of the Department of Construction of Bac Ninh province (before the merger of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces).
