On the afternoon of August 5, a conference was held to announce the General Urban Plan of Bac Ninh to 2050, vision to 2075 and the Decision recognizing the criteria of a type I urban area.
At the conference, leaders of Bac Ninh province directly handed over Investment Policy Approval Decisions, Investor Approval Decisions and Investment Registration Certificates with a total capital of 179.374 billion VND (equivalent to 6.93 billion USD) to investors in 3 large project groups.
For the group of urban, service and essential infrastructure projects, investment policy approval decisions, investor approvals and investment registration certificates were awarded to 14 projects outside industrial parks with a total registered capital of nearly 4.1 billion USD.
Including 8 large-scale urban area projects, 6 service, technical infrastructure and healthcare projects including: Inland waterway ports, supermarkets, logistics dry ports, vaccine factories and private hospitals.
For social housing projects, the Investment Policy Approval Decision was awarded and investor approval was also granted for 14 new social housing projects with a total investment capital of more than 3,831 billion VND (about 1.476 billion USD).
These projects are expected to supply about 27.9 thousand apartments to the market, contributing to solving the housing needs of workers and laborers in the province.
For industrial park infrastructure projects and FDI projects, investment policy approval decisions were awarded to 5 industrial park infrastructure projects with a total capital of over 8,266 billion VND (314 million USD); new investment registration certificates were awarded to 7 FDI enterprises with a total capital of 243 million USD; and certificates of capital increase were awarded to 8 FDI projects operating in industrial parks with a total additional registered capital of about 795 million USD.
In the first 7 months of 2026, Bac Ninh province attracted more than 13.8 billion USD of converted investment capital, of which FDI alone attracted over 2.7 billion USD, ranking 4th in the country.
Yesterday afternoon (August 4), the National Assembly Standing Committee unanimously submitted to the 16th National Assembly for consideration the establishment of Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh cities at the first non-scheduled session. This agency also approved a resolution under its authority to establish 12 wards under Bac Ninh province, including Yen Phong, Tien Du, Chi Lang, Phu Lang, Luong Tai, Gia Binh, Nhan Thang, Hiep Hoa, Bo Ha, Lang Giang, Kep and Luc Nam.
