On the evening of December 18, in Hanoi, Politburo member, Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man attended and gave a speech at the 4th National Press Award Ceremony for the National Assembly and People's Council (Dien Hong Award).
Attending the award ceremony were former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former Politburo member, former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung; Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien - Head of the Steering Committee for the Dien Hong Award, along with leaders and former leaders of the Party and State.
Speaking at the Award Ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that 2025 is a memorable year with many very important decisions, creating a historic turning point for the Party and State, all for the rapid and sustainable development of the country, for the prosperous and happy life of the people.
2025 is also the year when the National Assembly continues to inherit, promote, innovate the organization and methods of operation, respond quickly to practical requirements; the National Assembly has reviewed, discussed, approved and decided on a very large workload.
For the first time, successfully organized the Law Development Forum and the Forum on supervision activities, affirming the strong innovation in the thinking of law making and enforcement; affirming new, democratic, public, transparent and accountable supervision methods.
In addition, the National Assembly and its agencies are promoting digital transformation, applying information technology and artificial intelligence, initially bringing practical results.
The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that with the theme "80 years of the National Assembly of Vietnam", this year's Dien Hong Award received the participation of the press and the attention of the public.
The Organizing Committee of the Award received elaborate, thorough, new, creative investment journalism works that had a profound impact on social life, were well received by readers and highly appreciated by the Award's judging council.
Many articles have highlighted the achievements of the National Assembly over 80 years of formation and development along with the development of the country; reflecting and analyzing in depth the activities of the National Assembly, People's Councils at all levels and elected representatives in the context of the country entering a new era.
" Entering the new year 2026, journalists continue to promote their love for the profession, sense of responsibility, and steadfastness, objectively and multi-dimensionally reflecting all aspects of life" - the National Assembly Chairman hopes.
The National Assembly Chairman suggested that journalists continue to accompany the National Assembly, promptly and fully convey the activities of the National Assembly; detect inadequacies in law making and enforcement, helping elected bodies operate more effectively and efficiently.
In particular, the press needs to strongly spread new determination and new spirit throughout the Party, the entire people and the entire army in implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party; the election of 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
At the same time, continue to reflect the innovations in the activities of the National Assembly, identifying legislative work as a "breakthrough of breakthroughs", going ahead, opening the way.
Awarding prizes for 64 best works
With the theme "80 years of the Vietnamese National Assembly", the Dien Hong Award attracted 3,508 entries from 125 press agencies across the country. After classification, 659 works are eligible to be submitted to the preliminary round.
Through a serious, fair, scientific and responsible working process, the Preliminary Council selected 91 works for the final round and the Final Council decided to propose awards for 64 best works.
