Spread, inspire
This morning (February 4), in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Ministry of Information and Communications, Nhan Dan Newspaper, and the Vietnam Journalists Association jointly organized the Spring Press Conference of At Ty 2025.
Speaking at the Conference, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the press work in recent times.
According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, press, radio and television agencies have strongly spread and inspired optimism and confidence, a joyful atmosphere, creating a determined spirit in the political system, cadres, party members and people so that our people can confidently enter a new era, an era of striving to develop and become rich and strong for the country.
According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, the Central Party Secretariat, over the past year, press agencies have been very active in information and propaganda work when political events took place very quickly, both domestically and internationally, regionally and internationally, the fight against corruption and negativity, and new issues such as the era of growth.
Arouse national pride and self-respect
Referring to the tasks for 2025, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that the press promote patriotic emulation, arouse patriotism, self-confidence, self-reliance, national pride, mobilize resources, promote Vietnamese culture to promote the country's socio-economic and cultural development.
Along with that, we continue to promote Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th Party Congress. This is a very large space for the press to exploit and promote.
"There is a lot of content related to the draft documents submitted to the 14th Congress. The press needs to exploit it to see the country's efforts and rise, arousing national pride and self-respect.
The press must clarify theoretical and practical issues to help the people and officials, especially those who do not have the conditions to study theory and practice, to learn through the press. In particular, the very important factors are ideology, organization, officials and programs to realize the aspiration to develop the country" - Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia said.
Another important content also mentioned by Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia is to continue to propagate the implementation of Resolution 18 on streamlining and organizing the apparatus to be lean, effective and efficient.
The recent restructuring of the apparatus was a revolution. Revolutions always have difficulties. The press must take the lead and strengthen confidence for the revolution to succeed.
"We have done well recently, but this is just the first step. There is still a lot of work to do, and the next step is to perfect the staff in the political system," said Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia.
Referring to the higher requirements in international integration, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia said that the leading issue of the press is not only providing information but also providing knowledge to inspire and guide. In particular, the battlefield on cyberspace, the Internet and social networks must not be left empty.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia also mentioned that the press needs to promote propaganda content about major holidays and important events in 2025.
These include events such as the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's revolutionary press day; the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, the 80th anniversary of the country's founding...
At the end of the conference, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia quoted General Secretary To Lam's speech at the 2024 Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Awards Ceremony: "The country's achievements in nearly 40 years of carrying out the renovation process are great. The new era is opening up a bright future for the nation. The new era also sets new and higher requirements for revolutionary journalism, requiring the press to develop accordingly, grow together with the nation, and be worthy of professional, humane, and modern journalism."
Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that this is also a requirement for revolutionary journalism in the coming time, especially in 2025 - the year of the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism and many important events of the country.
