On September 16, in Hanoi, the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda coordinated with Nhan Dan Newspaper to organize a national scientific conference "Party newspaper system with the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints".
Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh emphasized: The current Party newspaper system includes press agencies with a long history and tradition of the Central and local levels, which are the voice of the Party, the State and the forum of the masses; they are the most official, reliable and accurate channels of information and propaganda, with prestige both domestically and internationally.
However, current practice is posing many difficulties and challenges for Party press agencies in carrying out the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints;
Especially when our country integrates more and more deeply into the international community, along with the explosion of information on the Internet and social networks, it creates conditions for hostile forces and wrong views to take advantage of cyberspace to communicate and sabotage the Party's ideological foundation.
Assessing many positive points, Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi - Vice President of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics - also frankly acknowledged that the participation of Party press agencies in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints still has some limitations and difficulties.
Therefore, it is very necessary to continue to improve the quality and promote more effectively the key role of the Party newspaper system in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against current erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
In his concluding remarks at the Workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Minh Son - Academy of Journalism and Propaganda - emphasized that the presentations at the Workshop all affirmed: Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against hostile and erroneous viewpoints in the current situation is a fundamental and especially important content in the work of Party building and rectification; is the top priority task of our entire Party, people and army; directly affects and has a decisive significance for the survival of the regime.
This is a fierce, complicated, long-term battle, requiring the mobilization of the combined strength of the entire political system and the entire people, including the very important role of the revolutionary press. This is the core force, playing a pioneering role on the ideological, cultural, information and propaganda battlefield, participating in protecting the Party, the State, the people, and protecting national and ethnic interests.
"Especially in the revolutionary press in our country today, the Party newspaper system, including large and prestigious press agencies, leading the information mainstream in people's daily lives, needs to play a central role, take on the mission of being the vanguard, taking the lead and fighting effectively on the front line to protect the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation" - Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Minh Son emphasized.
