This morning (September 12), in Hanoi, the Academy of Journalism and Communication held the Opening Ceremony of the 44th Regular University Course (2024-2028). Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central Propaganda Nguyen Trong Nghia attended the Opening Ceremony.
Before starting the Opening Ceremony, delegates observed a minute of silence for the victims of storm No. 3 and the recent floods and landslides in the northern provinces.
At the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Duc Ngoc - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the School Board - read the congratulatory letter from General Secretary and President To Lam to the education sector on the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2024 - 2025.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Minh Son - President of the Academy of Journalism and Communication - sent a message to the new students of the 44th Course: "A bright future depends on your utmost efforts in studying at this school. Today's generation of students of the 44th Course will be active, positive, creative, and strive to study and practice well, to contribute to the glorious 62-year tradition of the school."
Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central Propaganda Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: As a prestigious institution with a long history of achievements in training in the fields of journalism, publishing, and communications, the Academy needs to be a pioneer in research, comprehensive innovation of training content and programs, ensuring compliance with the Party's guidelines and regulations and the State's policies, adapting to the strong development of digital technology and artificial intelligence, keeping up with the trends of modern communications.
In addition to focusing on improving the quality of professional training, it is necessary to pay special attention to fostering political theory knowledge and professional ethics for journalists to meet practical requirements.
The Head of Central Propaganda emphasized that students and trainees of journalism, publishing, and communication need to be trained and fostered to be able to work proficiently in digital space; have the skills to use artificial intelligence as a support tool in exploiting content, analyzing data and predicting trends, verifying news and detecting fake news, creating new multimedia experiences; have courage and critical thinking, be upright and have professional ethics to protect the core values of journalism against the negative impacts of digital technology and artificial intelligence.
Associate Professor Dr. Pham Minh Son said that the current training scale of the Academy is more than 10,400 students, including 9,290 undergraduate students, 868 graduate students and 262 postgraduate students. In the recent regular university enrollment period, the Academy recruited 2,322 students for Course 44.
In the coming time, all staff and students of the School will strive to carry out the tasks of the new school year with the core values of the Academy: "Solidarity, Democracy, Innovation, Quality and Dedication".
