On September 9, the Standing Committee of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee organized a meeting between the Provincial Party Secretary and cadres planning positions under the management of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 and 2026-2031 terms.
The conference was chaired by Mr. Tran Van Lau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term of Vinh Long province and Mr. Lam Minh Dang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Also attending were representatives of the Department of Local Affairs III, the Central Organization Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and officials in the planning area.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee Organization Committee - gave a general report on cadre planning work.
The whole province currently has 792 cadres in the plan, including 543 cadres of object 1 and 249 cadres of object 2. Among these, there are 209 female cadres, 22 ethnic minority cadres and 223 cadres who have been professionally trained and trained in theory.
Speaking at the conference, the Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee emphasized that being included in the plan is not a title or guarantee that will definitely be appointed. This is an initial recognition step for officials to continue to be trained, trained, challenged, evaluated and screened.
The Provincial Party Secretary requested to innovate the evaluation of cadres, taking practice and results as a measure; to see what cadres have done, what products have been created, what difficulties have been solved, and whether they dare to decide and take responsibility or not.
Mr. Tran Van Lau proposed boldly assigning difficult areas and difficult fields to test cadres, thereby discovering people with organizational implementation capacity, ability to gather, adapt quickly and have outstanding capacity.
The Provincial Party Secretary also requested officials after the merger to overcome local thinking, regardless of where they come from. "Don't just ask where you will be assigned; ask what you can contribute to the province.
Emphasizing the spirit of dedication, Mr. Tran Van Lau said: "The position is not the goal of a cadre. Contribution is the goal". He requested cadres to be ready to accept difficult tasks, to organize selection by work results, instead of wishing for a specific position.
For each cadre in the planning area, the Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee proposed to proactively develop a training plan, clearly identify strengths, limitations and capacity to be supplemented. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee will create opportunities but also resolutely screen cadres who do not meet requirements, and at the same time supplement new factors with capacity and prospects through practice.
