Still limited in many aspects
At the meeting, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province said that this meeting had a lot of content, with 90 reports, 58 submissions and draft resolutions.
Assessing the socio-economic development tasks in 2024, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung found that there are still shortcomings and limitations in leadership and direction; each level and each sector is not really resolute; production and business activities in some sectors and fields are still facing difficulties.
Some large investment and real estate projects continue to be stalled, delayed or stopped; investment promotion and calling for investment have not met expectations... Some industrial clusters have incomplete technical infrastructure, implementation progress is slow and unsynchronized.
Compensation and site clearance for some projects are still slow. Deforestation, illegal logging and fishing boats violating foreign waters. Tourism products are not diverse, not meeting the needs of tourists, especially the lack of large-scale entertainment areas, services and night tourism.
"Reviewing and evaluating the socio-economic development situation, ensuring national defense and security in 2024; deciding on goals, tasks and solutions for 2025 are extremely important contents of the meeting," said Mr. Ho Quoc Dung.
The Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province requested the delegates to focus on discussing and frankly pointing out the results achieved and not achieved. From there, propose solutions to remove bottlenecks and difficulties, successfully implement the 2025 socio-economic development plan, and complete the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025.
Also in this session, the People's Council of Binh Dinh province will consider draft resolutions, such as: Approval of the general construction planning project at a scale of 1/5000 of Phu My industrial park (Phu My district); the policy of establishing An Nhon city; policies to support the construction of new houses and repair of houses for poor and near-poor households in the province until 2025; the project to purchase specialized machinery and equipment in the medical field for public hospitals at the provincial level and many other important contents.
Top disbursement rate
Reporting at the meeting, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that in 2024, the province's socio-economic situation achieved many positive results in all fields. The province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 7.78% compared to the plan, ranking 26th in the country. Key economic sectors such as agriculture, forestry, fishery, industry, construction and services all grew.
The industrial production index increased by 10% over the same period, bringing export turnover to 1.71 billion USD, up 7.8% over the same period. Total state budget revenue reached about 15,615 billion VND, up 23.2% over the same period. Notably, the public investment disbursement rate reached 98.5% of the plan, considered one of the localities with the highest disbursement rate in the country.
"With the target of GRDP growth of 7.6-8%, Binh Dinh will focus on implementing key tasks such as continuing to restructure agriculture, developing raw material areas, applying science and technology; speeding up the progress of industrial projects, attracting new projects; diversifying tourism products, improving service quality. Increasing budget revenue, mobilizing development investment capital; promoting administrative reform, strengthening discipline and order", said Mr. Pham Anh Tuan.
The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee believes that with the efforts of the entire political system and the support of the people, Binh Dinh will successfully complete the goals and tasks set out in 2025.
