Focus on spiritual culture
On the afternoon of November 12 in Da Nang city, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor reviewed 2 years of implementing Decision No. 2214/QD-TTg dated December 28, 2021 of the Prime Minister approving the Program to implement the Movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" for the period 2021-2026 (Decision No. 2214/QD-TTg).
In this Decision, the Prime Minister assigned the task to the Trade Union organization to "preside over and coordinate with the member agencies of the Central Steering Committee and localities to continue to effectively implement the movement of All people uniting to build a cultural life; building cultural agencies, units and enterprises; promoting activities to direct and organize the building of cultural life for workers in industrial parks and export processing zones".
According to the report of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in recent times, trade unions at all levels have always closely followed the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the orientation of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Labor on the work of building the cultural and spiritual life of workers.
Regularly monitor and grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers and social issues among workers; supervise the implementation of labor and trade union laws at the enterprise, proactively coordinate with business leaders to create favorable conditions for workers to participate in activities to improve their cultural and spiritual life.
The climax of the work of caring for the cultural and spiritual life of workers is focused on and promoted on the occasion of welcoming the Congress of trade unions at all levels, the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Many units have organized cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities, creating a healthy playground, developing the spiritual and cultural life for union members and workers with many diverse programs such as dramatization (gameshow); "Weekend rendezvous program", "Weekend playground", "Singing with workers", "Singing festival for workers in boarding houses"...
Publishing books for workers
At the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level, in recent times there have been many major programs to care for the cultural and spiritual life of union members and workers, including:
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in collaboration with the Vietnam Writers Association organized a literary writing contest on the topic of workers and trade unions in 2021-2022. The contest received more than 186 entries from nearly 100 authors. Including 158 short stories and 28 novels.
42 works from this contest have been published in Lao Dong Cuoi Tuan and Lao Dong Online publications. At the same time, 10 works have been adapted into podcasts (audiobooks) for distribution to workers.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in coordination with the Vietnam Football Federation (in 2023) will organize for the first time the "National Men's Football Championship for Workers".
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor cooperates with Vietnam Television (2022-2024) to produce and broadcast a television entertainment program for workers, civil servants, and laborers called "The 9th Hour".
The program aims to introduce the image of Vietnamese workers in the period of innovation - dynamic, creative, self-reliant, self-reliant, with many dreams and aspirations, good workers, knowledgeable about the law, with a beautiful lifestyle and responsible to society.
The program "The 9th Hour" was launched by the Prime Minister on June 12, 2022, and has become a familiar and useful spiritual food for workers and a large number of television viewers; a playground that explodes with joy, laughter, and spreads positive energy to workers...
The General Confederation builds a propaganda plan on building workers' culture according to each topic, choosing appropriate forms of transmission to propagate and equip workers with life skills, legal knowledge, cultural and civilized lifestyle, and industrial working style such as:

A system of source documents for propaganda on the field of workers' cultural life has been basically formed; the content is rich according to topical topics from the lives and work of workers.
