At the meeting, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan - Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security - said that in April, the Police of units and localities focused on combating and reducing social order crimes by 13.15% compared to April 2025; reducing 8.63% of wanted subjects in the country;
Effectively fight against organized, transnational activities, gangs operating in theft, fraud, appropriation of property, gambling, organizing gambling; dismantle many lines of bringing dirty food into schools; production, trading, and use of banned substances in food production.
Also at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long - Deputy Minister of Public Security - speaking about the implementation of Resolution 57, said that this work has achieved many outstanding results. The Ministry of Public Security continues to promote its exemplary role, taking the lead, and participating in leading the national index;
The Ministry of Public Security has mastered 3 strategic technology groups: network security, big data, cloud computing and blockchain technology; researched and produced 14 types of products; completed 18/19 databases; submitted to the Prime Minister the program on developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period 2026 - 2030, vision to 2035;
Project on developing the national identification application VNeID for the period 2026 - 2030, vision to 2035; Decree amending the Decree on location identification. Promulgating a set of criteria for evaluating the "number unit", "number commander", "number officer" models; serving well the National Assembly elections, data from the Ministry of Public Security has supported communes in reviewing voters.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long, in the second quarter of 2026, the Ministry of Public Security has 41 tasks assigned by the Central Government that need to be completed, requesting the Police of units and localities to rectify public service discipline and definitively complete the assigned tasks.
Units must complete the tasks that the Ministry's leaders have directed, must ensure quality and progress; Party Secretary and Director are responsible if progress is slow or late," the Deputy Minister emphasized.
Regarding crime prevention and control, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long emphasized that the crime situation in April increased compared to March, in which dangerous crimes increased, killing relatives appeared; 2 consecutive cases of subjects testing positive for drugs, showing signs of mental illness, killing relatives occurred; requesting localities to focus on resolving these cases and incidents in a comprehensive spirit, handling collective and individual responsibilities if any.
Concluding the meeting, directing a number of key tasks in May, General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security - requested the Police of units and localities to strengthen review and highly implement measures to protect internal areas.
Focus on solutions to reduce crime in social order, creating clear and sustainable changes in the fight against crime and violations of environmental laws, food safety and hygiene, and smuggling. Focus on fighting and handling crimes taking advantage of tourist and resort locations. Decisively implement solutions to reduce traffic accidents and fire and explosion accidents.
In addition, units need to accelerate the progress of building legal normative documents. Actively implement the content of the 2nd Central Conference, especially the new thinking in the Resolution on anti-corruption, Regulations on political and ideological work in the Party.
