According to information from the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, tourist transfer boat QN-6337, registration number: V14-018454, capacity 200CV, carrying 24 people, belonging to Ha Long Bay Service Joint Stock Company, operated by captain Ha Van Hiep, born in 1991, carrying 14 people (2 Vietnamese passengers, 7 Korean passengers, 2 Indian passengers, 01 Dutch passenger, 01 German passenger and 01 Vietnamese tour guide) was picked up from the Leona Cruise QN-9383 ship, anchored in the water area of Cat Lan island, Ha Long Bay to transfer passengers to Hang Luon tourist spot.
After visitors had finished visiting Hang Luon, while moving to take visitors back to the boat, boat QN-6337 suddenly lost control and crashed into a buoy anchoring a tourist boat in the area in front of Hang Luon, Ha Long Bay, causing all 15 people on the speedboat to fall into the water.
Immediately after boat QN-6337 encountered an accident, on-site forces of the Ha Long Bay-Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board and Ha Long Bay Services Joint Stock Company promptly deployed rescue and relief and brought all 15 people ashore, transporting them to Vinmec Ha Long General Hospital and Quang Ninh Provincial General Hospital to check the health of all passengers on the boat.
There are 3 injured people including: 1 male tourist of German nationality (Mr. Buet Ron, born in 1967); 1 Vietnamese tourist (Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, born in 1975) and 1 boat driver who are being treated and treated at the hospital. No deaths.
Currently, boat QN-6337 has been salvaged and anchored in a safe location. The initial cause is temporarily determined to be that the boat lost control and collided with the anchor buoy. Currently, the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board has arranged people to be on duty to encourage and visit, coordinate with functional agencies to resolve necessary procedures, and support insurance payments according to regulations.
