On the morning of September 8, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that storm No. 3 (Yagi) has weakened into a tropical depression over the Northwestern region. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting to level 7, moving west at a speed of 10-15 km/h.
According to information from the Border Guard of Lang Son province, in response to the impact of storm No. 3, units in Lang Son province have organized forces to go to the localities, coordinating with local authorities to help people overcome the consequences of floods.
The provincial Border Guard thoroughly and seriously implemented the above directives, closely monitored forecast bulletins, and organized 100% of its standing force to respond to the storm situation.
Border guards have proactively coordinated with local authorities and functional forces to step up propaganda for more than 100 households and 350 people in families at risk of landslides, not to be subjective in the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 3; organized more than 150 officers and soldiers to help households move assets including televisions, refrigerators, rice to safe places; helped households tie down their houses to prevent rain and storms; overcome and relocate fallen trees that affect traffic.
At the same time, forces are deployed to coordinate guarding at dangerous points at risk of landslides, preventing people from traveling. Currently, the Border Guard of Lang Son province strictly maintains the number of troops on duty; fully prepares means and human resources to participate in responding when an incident occurs.
Meanwhile, according to the announcement of the Office of the National Committee for Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue, in the sea area of Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city, there are 6 vehicles that have had accidents and incidents and need support after storm No. 3 (storm Yagi).
The ships needing support include: 1 fishing boat with unknown registration number and 1 crew member with engine failure, drifting in the area of Hon Van Boi (Hai Phong city); Bach Dang 1 ship with 13 crew members with engine failure at 20047'N-107008'E (Cat Ba island area); inland waterway vehicle QN 7118 with 2 crew members missing in the area of Hon Mot, Quang Ninh province;
The Viet Thuan 09 ship with 4 crew members was sunk by waves at the anchorage area of Column 8, Hon Gai, Quang Ninh province, with 4 crew members stuck in a ravine at the anchorage area of Hon Gai; the CUAONG 12 engine with 14 crew members sank at the anchorage area of Column 8, Hon Gai; the THANH LOC 01 ship with 10 crew members drifted and got stuck at Hon Xao, Ha Long.
Currently, the Border Guard Command of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong City has coordinated with the Maritime Port Authority, functional forces, departments, branches, localities, and ship owners to grasp the situation of the ships and crew members of the ships in distress. At the same time, the units are ready with forces and means to coordinate with functional forces to participate in support when weather conditions permit.
