The Office of the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has just issued a Report on directing work, bridge and pontoon assurance work, natural disasters, forest fires... on June 28.
The report clearly stated that in order to proactively respond to heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods, landslides, tornadoes, lightning, and thunderstorms to ensure the safety of people's lives and minimize damage to state and people's property, the Ministry of National Defense issued Official Dispatch No. 1998/CD-CHCN dated June 27 on proactively responding to heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods, landslides, tornadoes, lightning, and thunderstorms.
In which, it is proposed that units in disaster-affected areas firmly grasp the weather situation, strictly maintain duty regimes, inspect, and supplement plans to be ready to mobilize forces and vehicles to help localities respond promptly and effectively to situations, not to be passive or surprised, and ensure safety for people and vehicles when performing tasks.
During the day, the Ministry of National Defense mobilized 160 officers and soldiers and 90 vehicles of all kinds, maintaining the operation of the Lo River pontoon bridge, ensuring safety for 4,333 passengers and vehicles.
The report said that the Ministry of National Defense sent forces and vehicles to support Venezuela in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake, including: 82 officers and professional soldiers, led by Major General Pham Van Ty, Deputy Chief of Office of the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense, 8 nghiệp vụ dogs and 87.8 tons of equipment and materials participating in disaster relief.
Regarding natural disasters, on June 26 and 27, in the communes of Sin Suoi Ho, Khong Lao, Dao San, Lai Chau province, heavy rain and flash floods occurred. Consequences: Damage of about 3ha of crops, 150m of inter-commune roads. Border Guards (BĐBP) of Lai Chau province dispatched 20 officers and soldiers (CBCS) to coordinate with local forces to help people overcome the consequences.
At about 01:00 on June 28, in My Thuan hamlet, My Tho commune, Dong Thap province, a 500m2 landslide occurred on the Cau Lo riverbank and 50m of Thien Ho Duong road subsided. The locality mobilized 10 people (Army: 3, Militia: 7) to coordinate with local forces to help people overcome the consequences.
Regarding forest fires, on June 28, in the communes of Gio Linh, Cam Hong, Quang Tri province, a fire occurred in 4.5ha of melaleuca forest and protection forest, the cause is being verified. The locality mobilized 150 people (Army: 10, Militia: 35, Other forces: 105), 2 fire truck crews and hand tools to extinguish the fire at 2:30 PM on the same day.
The report of the Office of the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense said that agencies and units strictly maintain the on-duty regime, proactively grasp the situation, promptly mobilize forces and vehicles to overcome natural disasters, extinguish forest fires and support Venezuela in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake disaster.
