Accordingly, the Ministry of National Defense is organizing a consultation on the draft Circular regulating the leave regime for officers, professional soldiers and defense officials.
The draft Circular specifically stipulates the leave regime, the authority to resolve, register, manage, and suspend the leave regime for officers, professional soldiers in the army, workers and defense officials. This Circular applies to the above subjects as well as relevant agencies, units, organizations and individuals.
In Article 6 of the Circular, soldiers, workers and defense officials are entitled to annual leave as follows:
Under 15 years of work with 20 days off;
From 15 years of service to less than 25 years of service, 25 days off;
After 25 years of work or more, there will be 30 days off.

Soldiers, workers and defense officials stationed in units far from home (where their spouse or wife resides; biological children, legally adopted children; father, mother, legal guardian of themselves, of their spouse or husband) on annual leave are entitled to additional leave.
10 days for one of the following cases:
Military station 500 km or more away from home;
Deployed in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions; remote areas, border areas 300 km or more away from family.
Stationed in the islands of Truong Sa archipelago and DK Forces.
5 days for one of the following cases:
Camping 300 km to less than 500 km away from home;
Campaign in remote areas, border areas with regional allowance coefficient of 0.5 or higher and from 200 km to less than 300 km from family distance.
Stationed on islands receiving regional allowances.
Every year, agencies and units from regimental level and above shall plan for soldiers, workers and defense officials to take leave, depending on the nature and requirements of the unit to determine the appropriate leave rate, regularly ensuring combat readiness and completing the task.
For academies, schools arrange for military personnel, workers and defense officials to take a day off to focus on the summer and Lunar New Year.
According to Article 7 of the draft Circular, in addition to annual leave, soldiers, workers and defense officials are entitled to special leave, each time not exceeding 10 days if they fall into one of the following cases:
Married or fathered or adopted children legally married.
The family encounters sudden difficulties due to the wife or husband; biological or legally adopted children; father, mother, legal guardian of the wife or husband who is seriously ill, has an accident, died, passed away or suffered heavy property damage due to natural disasters, fires, or dangerous epidemics.
