Perspective of the nearly VND12,000 billion bridge connecting Hanoi with Hung Yen

The Ngoc Hoi bridge project across the Red River connecting Hanoi and Hung Yen has a total investment of nearly VND 12,000 billion, expected to start construction in September 2025.

The project of building Ngoc Hoi bridge and the two ends of the bridge has a total length of about 7.5 km. In particular, the length of the main bridge and the bridge is 7.2km, 33m wide, including 6 motor lanes and mixed lanes. The head of the bridge on Hung Yen is about 300m long and 60m wide.

The starting point of the investment project is in Thanh Tri district, Hanoi (connecting with the end point of the Ring Road 3.5 project from Phuc La, Van Phu to Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, about 360m from Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway towards Huu Hong dike).

The end point is in Van Giang district, Hung Yen province (Km7+500) connecting with Ring Road 3.5 in Van Giang district, Hung Yen province, 700m from the Ta Hong dike towards the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway.

The total investment of the project is 11,844 billion VND. The implementation period is from 2025 to 2030.

The Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is the unit assigned to organize the competition for the architectural design of Ngoc Hoi bridge under the Ngoc Hoi bridge construction investment project and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge.

The Department of Planning and Architecture has cooperated with the Management Board of the Hanoi Traffic Construction Project to implement the examination of architectural plans in accordance with the Law on Architecture, Decree No. 85/2020/ND -CP of July 17, 2020 of the Government.

Recently, the Hanoi People's Committee approved the results of the entrance exam for the architectural design of Ngoc Hoi bridge. Accordingly, the first prize is the " Sun Gate" option with code NH-02 (CT0203) designed by the large bridge - tunnel design consulting firm.

At a meeting with voters in Me Linh district, Soc Son before the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly recently, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that the city is determined to start the construction of Tu Lien bridge on the occasion of May 19.

This has been assigned by the Government to Hanoi, and related work is currently being reviewed daily. Along with that, Tran Hung Dao Bridge and Ngoc Hoi Bridge will start construction on August 19 and September 2, 2025, respectively.
