On the afternoon of October 19, in Khanh Hoa, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh chaired a conference to remove difficulties and obstacles in renewable energy projects.

Renewable energy is a trend not only in Vietnam but also globally. In that trend, Vietnam has promoted attracting investment in many renewable energy projects.

According to Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, recently, a number of projects have violated regulations and the Government Inspectorate has inspected and issued conclusions.

All invested renewable energy projects account for about 20% of the national electricity generation, with a total capital of about VND350,000 billion (equivalent to nearly USD13 billion).

Currently, some projects have been put into operation and are actively contributing to the national energy; some remaining projects are still not operational due to inspections.

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that violations in projects must still be considered according to regulations, but research is needed to put these resources into operation, and investment capital cannot be wasted.

This conference is an opportunity for localities to exchange and discuss with ministries and branches to find solutions. After the conference, the discussed contents will be collected to submit to the Prime Minister for solutions.
