On the morning of September 7, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the regular Government meeting for August 2024 with many important contents.
According to the program, the meeting discussed and gave opinions on the socio-economic situation in August and the first 8 months of 2024; the situation of allocation and disbursement of public investment capital; the implementation of 3 national target programs; the implementation of the 2024 socio-economic development plan, and the expected 2025 socio-economic development plan.
The Government also assessed the implementation of the public investment plan for 2024, the expected public investment plan for 2025; and the handling of some difficulties in the infrastructure investment project of Phu Vinh Industrial Park and Hoanh Son Industrial Park in Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ha Tinh.
Opening the meeting, on behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the five newly approved and appointed members of the Government.
In the face of storm No. 3 with very strong intensity, high level of natural disaster risk, and complicated developments that are directly affecting the mainland of the Northeast and North Central regions of our country, the Prime Minister said that the Government has established a Forward Command in Hai Phong to direct storm prevention and control work .
A number of Ministers and Deputy Ministers were sent to localities, especially coastal provinces and cities, to direct and urge storm prevention and control; the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security mobilized forces to be on duty and help people prevent and control storms.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, and Government agencies to directly direct storm prevention and control and overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 and floods caused by storm circulation in accordance with the spirit of the Prime Minister 's telegrams .
Looking back at the situation in August 2024, the Prime Minister said that the work of perfecting leadership positions had been organized in accordance with regulations and fully completed; documents for the 14th National Party Congress continued to be prepared.
The Head of Government assessed that the socio-economic situation in August continued to be positive, better than July, and overall the first 8 months were better than the same period in all areas.
The Prime Minister requested that Government members attending the meeting focus on evaluating in the spirit of "not beautifying or defaming; creating an exciting atmosphere, consolidating and strengthening the trust of the people, businesses and investors".
We must have an objective and profound view, with specific figures to prove it; evaluate the direction and administration of the Government; analyze the strengths, limitations, and lessons learned to continue directing, administering, and organizing implementation in the coming time to achieve better results.
The Prime Minister also requested Government members to analyze, forecast and assess the situation in September and the coming time; propose breakthrough mechanisms, policies and solutions; areas to focus on; tasks and solutions in the coming time to promote growth.
At the same time, it is necessary to propose solutions to stabilize the macro-economy, control inflation, ensure major balances, especially for key economic sectors; resolve outstanding issues; ensure social security; maintain national sovereignty, political security, social order and safety, and promote foreign affairs.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to assign "clearly people, clear tasks, clear responsibilities, clear implementation time, clear efficiency, clear products", strengthen inspection, urging, and supervision; closely follow reality for management.
