According to VNA, at the working session on the morning of March 13, the President pointed out that in the context of the large amount of work in the coming time, especially the preparation for important events of the Party and the country, as well as the dissemination and implementation of resolutions and conclusions of the Politburo and the Central Executive Committee on streamlining the organizational apparatus, ensuring effective and efficient operations and preparing for Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Therefore, tasks and work need to be coordinated closely and rhythmically; when there is a decision, it is necessary to work urgently, accurately, promptly, in accordance with regulations with higher quality requirements.
After listening to the report of the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Luong Cuong welcomed and highly appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies in the past time to proactively and effectively implement the foreign affairs activities of the Party and State.
The President praised the vibrant foreign affairs activities in recent times for contributing significantly to deepening Vietnam's relations with partners, creating intertwined benefits with partners, and enhancing the country's potential.
In particular, high-level foreign affairs activities play an important role, which has strategic orientation for our relations with other countries.
Regarding the direction in the coming time, the President agreed with the proposals of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the expected content and program for implementing high-level foreign affairs activities.
The President emphasized that foreign affairs activities need to be implemented with focus, focus, effectiveness, substance, closely following foreign priorities; there is a harmonious, scientific, reasonable and balanced combination between the delegation and the delegation on all three pillars of foreign affairs of the Party, state diplomacy, and people's diplomacy; ensuring the overall and balanced nature of regions and partners on the basis of the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, and multilateralization of foreign relations.
The President pointed out that to successfully complete those goals, the foreign affairs activities of senior leaders need to be carefully prepared in terms of content, creative in terms of form, strictly reasonable and effective in terms of work programs.
President Luong Cuong expressed his confidence that, with the new role and position after receiving the functions and tasks of the Central Committee for External Relations of the Party and part of the tasks of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee in the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in particular and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in general will successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party and the State, contributing significantly to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Regarding amnesty work, the President pointed out that on March 3, he issued a Decision on amnesty in 2025, implementing amnesty, and releasing prisoners from prison ahead of schedule for those sentenced to prison on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
From now until the time of amnesty is not much, the workload is large and to ensure the progress, effectiveness and significance of amnesty work in 2025, the President requested the Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy and relevant agencies to continue to direct the implementation of the work of amnesty work to ensure objectivity, democracy, fairness, publicity, strictness, correct subjects and conditions according to regulations, meeting political, legal, foreign and humanitarian requirements, creating a stable social environment to serve the socio-economic development of the country.
The President requested the Office of the President to closely coordinate with relevant agencies to prepare content for the 6th meeting of the National Defense and Security Council.
